The Stride & Ride Relay is a powerful and poignant journey that takes place each October, serving as a profound way for veterans, first responders, and citizens alike to come together and honor, remember, and educate one another about the profound significance of October 7, 2001 – the pivotal date that marked the first deployment in the global war on terror just weeks after September 11,2001. This relay is not merely a symbolic gesture, but a deeply meaningful endeavor that keeps the memories of all those lost alive, whether on the fateful day of September 11, 2001, or in the subsequent years due to 9/11-related illnesses, service-connected injuries and ailments, or the invisible wounds of war that have taken such a devastating toll. By participating in this relay, individuals from all walks of life are able to demonstrate their unwavering support and gratitude for those who have courageously served, whether on the front lines or as first responders, as well as for the families who have sacrificed so much. Through this collective act of remembrance and solidarity, the Stride & Ride Relay ensures that the legacies of the fallen will never be forgotten, while also providing a tangible means of showing steadfast support for those who continue to put their lives on the line to protect and serve their fellow citizens.
